Research: No matter how well you assume you know your character choice; it is always advisable to gather as much information as possible. Make use of reference pictures from all sources available. Choosing the Right Wig: Be sure to have the right color and style of wig for your character. Although some cosplayers choose to actually dye their hair, it is not usually recommended. You can find cheap, inexpensive wigs at Halloween or costume shops.  However, if you want something to last for a long time, then choosing wigs from beauty shops might be the better investment, even if they do cost a little more. Transport your styled wig on a Styrofoam wig head (these can be purchased at a beauty shop) and place it in a wig or hat box filled with Styrofoam ‘peanuts’ for extra protection.
